Barça Ready for Historic Fixture at Partially Completed Camp Nou this Saturday
The club confirmed they are set to host at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou this Saturday. The club will host Athletic Bilbao in the Spanish league 30 months after they moved out to allow renovations to start.
“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
The stadium will not be at full capacity with 45,401 fans will be allowed to watch as per the current authorization. After final construction, the Camp Nou is due to hold almost 105,000 spectators, increasing from the former 99,000. The club said recent additions comprise a renovated tunnel for players along with upgraded changing facilities.
Stadium Testing
Barça organized an open training session on the home pitch in early November. The club said they were hoping for permission from Uefa to play their next home Champions League game versus the German side on 9 December at Camp Nou. Previous fixtures took place at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
